Annual Winter Exhibition Cabinet - 2024

We are delighted to once again present our annual online Winter Exhibition Cabinet – a seasonal feast of original book  illustration artwork
by many of the world’s leading and best-loved book illustrators and animated-film makers. This year we welcome John Vernon Lord, whose work for The Folio Society is some of the finest, and include page spreads from his ‘’Myths and Legends of the British Isles’’. There is classic artwork by Edward Ardizzone, Neil Packer and John Lawrence, with illustrations for ''The Dragon'', ''The Odyssey'' and Philip Pullman's ''His Dark Materials'' series. We miss our friends David McKee, and are pleased to include a selection of his Elmer The Elephant from a private collection, Shirley Hughes and Babette Cole.

Further highlights to look out for are the last two remaining editions of the original storyboards for Wallace and Gromit's Academy Award winning film, 'The Wrong Trousers', which celebrates the Christmas Day release of Aardman's new Wallace and Gromit film, ' Vengance Most Fowl'. Also check out Anita Jeram's illustrations for the ''Guess How Much I Love You'' books, featuring the front cover artwork for the original and best-known story. From Australia we welcome Astrid Lindgren winner Shaun Tan along with  Hans Andersen Award winner Robert Ingpen. Graphic novels are represented by John McLusky's first renditions of James Bond, 007, from the mid-1950s, and Ron Smith's iconic renditions of Judge Dredd,. With over 100 works by more than 35 artists and prices starting at £150 we hope there is something here for everyone!
